Who can use this service?
Anyone currently enrolled as a BCIT student can book a session.
Who helps you?
A Language Advisor will guide your 15 min. session. All Language Advisors are BCIT Communications Faculty Instructors with English as an Additional Language (EAL) training. Language Advisors know the English expectations in BCIT programs.
What help can you get?
Language Advisors will listen, assess, and guide you to your next level as a communicator.
Advisors can:
offer advice, give feedback, and suggest resources.
provide English language support.
help you practise pronunciation and presentations.
review course materials.
brainstorm options for topic or content ideas.
work together with you to identify and revise grammar and writing.
These sessions are only for course-related writing and not for commenting on grades.
We are offering in-person English Help at the Downtown Campus in June and July. Please note, we’re closed on July 1 and 2.
Who can use this service?
Anyone who is a current BCIT student can attend an English Help session. You can come by yourself or with another student/small group.
When can you come?
No appointment is necessary. Simply drop-in to Rm 305 at the downtown campus between 4:45-5:45pm, Mondays and Tuesdays in June and July.
Who helps you?
You will meet with our Language Advisor, Krystal Seko. She has extensive experience and training in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) and knows the English expectations in BCIT programs.
What help can you get?

Please note, these sessions are only for course-related English support. The Language Advisor will not comment on grades or your instructor’s feedback.
