Course Overview
A strong brand builds equity by resonating with its target audience, and corporate communications are essential in conveying a company's strategy, structure, and vision across multiple platforms. This course explores how business strategies form the foundation for effective design strategies in both internal and external corporate communications. Students will develop and enhance a cohesive brand message by building a visual language and applying it to various corporate identity applications, such as logo mock-ups, corporate typography, colour schemes, and other visual assets. Through hands-on projects, students will learn to create consistent and impactful communication materials that support brand equity and organizational goals.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Research and analyze communication strategies to identify factors that contribute to their success or failure.
- Build and refine a visual brand strategy that consistently conveys a client-focused message aligned with the company’s values, mission, and communication objectives.
- Conduct a design audit to identify communication, design, and budget needs, and draft a corporate communications plan based on the findings.
- Apply a brand identity to support specific communication goals, such as increasing public awareness, retaining employees, and driving company growth
- Demonstrate how different companies use a variety of communication tools and platforms to convey distinct messages.
- Explain the differences in messaging needs between internal and external communications within a company.
- Develop and expand the corporate visual language by establishing visual standards for applications, including annual reports, templates, and marketing materials.
