Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe shipping economics and business principles.
- Identify commercial shipping terminology and abbreviations.
- Perform laytime and demurrage calculations.
- Evaluate, plan, and execute the voyage arrangements (including cargo booking and bunker supply, etc.).
- Explain financing, purchasing, and trading of ships.
- Describe registration, classification, ship operations, revenues, and costs.
